Music inspired by J.R.R. Tolkiens The Hobbit
In 1996 Pär Lindh and multi-instrumentalist Björn Johansson released this J..R. Tolkien-inspired masterpiece. All over the world Lindh & Johansson fans, as well as Tolkien fans and prog magazines, consider this CD to be one of the best Tolkien interpretations ever released.
Having received stellar reviews – including best album of the year 1996 in Argentina and Belgium – this CD has continued to sell over the years. The album follows the story of the book “The Hobbit” in the music so fans of the book will recognize all the parts of the story as it unfolds. After having waited 8 months for the right to use the original lyrics to the four songs, Pär received a No from the Tolkien estate. Initially he received a yes over the phone. Pär spent the following night writing new lyrics to the four songs with vocals which some people think even surpasses Tolkien’s original lyrics!
